Hi, my name is Bailey Parks. I am an aviation enthusiast, alpine ski race coach, and first officer for Alaska Airlines. I started my aviation career by earning my Private Pilot license followed by my Instrument Rating, Multi-Engine Commercial, Single-Engine Commercial, Certified Flight Instructor, Certified Flight Instructor Instrument, and Multi-Engine Instructor Licenses. While flight-instructing towards my goal of 1,500 hours, I successfully landed a failed single-engine airplane on a busy interstate, navigated complex mountainous terrain and airspace, and kept a 90 percent student pass rate. My favorite part of flight-instructing is enjoying the sky with my students and keeping my basic flying skills proficient. Once I reached 2,000 flight hours and the legal age of 21, I earned my ATP with the ERJ-170/190 type rating through SkyWest Airlines. As a Salt Lake Based SkyWest First Officer, I flew in and out of challenging airports all over the country with senior captains that prepared me to take the soonest available upgrade. I headed to upgrade on my 23rd birthday! As a Boise based Captain, I flew the ERJ-175 across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. I continued the adventure to Alaska Airlines to fly the Airbus 320/321, and I absolutely love my job. I enjoy working with different captains, first officers, flight attendants, and passengers, experiencing different cities all around North America, and flying the Airbus 320/321.When I am not flying for the Airlines, I enjoy ski coaching for Snowbasin Ski Education Foundation. My favorite part of ski coaching is creating a positive environment while teaching technical race tactics to young athletes. In December 2021 I also graduated with my Bachelor of Science Aviation Flight Technology degree through Thomas Edison State University.
