"Helping one person might not change the world, but it could change the world for that one person."I have in-depth work and volunteer experience related to my field with a focus in the areas of: Social Advocacy, Legal Agency, and Community Outreach. Throughout my time at Humboldt State University, I immersed myself with community and cultural experiences. I spent the Summer of 2017 studying in Thailand, which in turn expanded my cultural knowledge and my world perspective. I volunteered with two incredible organizations, CASA of Humboldt and Care for Dogs in Thailand. Both organizations are distinct in their missions, but share the commonality of addressing a social need within their community. I also had the opportunity to intern with the Public Defender and the District Attorney of Humboldt County. These legal internships provided me with two different approaches to the criminal justice system, while concurrently creating a foundation of legal knowledge. My ambition now is to pursue a career path which places emphasis on social advocacy and incorporates aspects of youth mental health services provided in wilderness settings.
