Hello, my name is Bailey Wall and I am a fourth-year Biomedical Engineering student at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, expected to graduate in June 2025. Through my academic and hands-on experiences, I have developed a solid foundation in engineering principles and a passion for advancing medical technology. I recently participated in the Biomedical Clinical Engineering Partnership (BiCEP), an immersive clinical program where I rotated through various hospital units to observe patient interactions, medical procedures, and daily operations. During this experience, I collaborated with healthcare professionals to design, prototype, and test a semi-automated suture device. Currently, I serve as a project sponsor for Cal Poly's Senior Design program, leading a small team on the development and advancement of this project. Additionally, I am working with a team to develop a realistic bionic arm that integrates electrical and mechanical systems to perform common hand movements. I also contribute to the Dynamics Learning Lab, where I design interactive learning modules and classroom activities aimed at promoting STEM equity in physics and mechanical engineering courses. This role has ignited my passion for engineering education. Beyond my academic pursuits, I am an ambassador for the Cal Poly College of Engineering, where I lead tours that highlight lab spaces and the "Learn by Doing" philosophy. I enjoy sharing my experiences with prospective students and fostering a welcoming environment. I also had the opportunity to pursue my education abroad in Florence, Italy during the Fall of 2023, and I loved every moment of it.
