During my co-op placement with Waste Wiki, a York University research project, my first-year involvement revolved around collaborating closely with a client to complete data compilation and research regarding the acceptance of certified compostable plastics in municipal compost systems across Canada. This extensive research endeavor spanned six months, during which I maintained regular communication with the client through weekly or biweekly calls to provide updates, refine research parameters, and strategize further actions. The project demanded a high level of organization and communication skills, with Excel being the primary tool for data compilation. The outcomes of this research, along with its conclusions, were slated for publication by both the client and Waste Wiki. Establishing a strong connection with the client, I was retained beyond the co-op completion to fulfill additional tasks.In my second year, my responsibilities expanded to include working closely with two clients. In one project, I conducted an analysis of global Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) initiatives and their correlation with packaging and climate change. Additionally, I assumed the role of an events coordinator for a sustainability summit in the United States.

As a co-op student with Regenesis, a student-run environmental not-for-profit, I completed applications for government and foundation-funded grants and funding opportunities. Applications require high levels of organization and time management to ensure completion and assist the organization with securing funding.

I assisted with the maintenance and day-to-day activities of this smaller restaurant location. Primary responsibilities included daily ordering and food prep, training staff, making and serving espresso based drinks and baked goods, and ensuring excellent service and cleanliness including COVID-19 protocols.

As the office coordinator of a software start-up, I ordered and maintained all hardware and supply inventory for 50+ staff members as well as organized services for office maintenance, furniture and other materials required. I was responsible for planning all office and community events, arranging catering and supplies as needed. This position required high levels of detail-oriented time management on short notice and quick timelines.

As a department manager of a high volume retail location, I worked closely with 12 direct employees in my department as well as 30-40+ total employees for the store. I was the primary buyer for my department, oversaw scheduling and training, facilitated communication between stores and departments, and managed the store solo in the absence of other managers. I worked closely with 20+ suppliers to coordinate regular shipments and inventory, oversee staff onboarding and training, and also worked closely with my team of managers to establish this new location in terms of procedures and business flow. Inventory, merchandising, hiring, buying, procedures, training, and customer service were part of my daily task lists.

As store manager of a health and supplement store, I worked to maintain personal and team consistency in customer service and education. I was responsible for scheduling, inventory and store visuals, working with many distributors to ensure consistent stock and customer special orders were received quickly, and upheld store policies and procedures. As a regional trainer I traveled to all stores in the GTA to educate team members around natural skincare and cosmetics, education, and customer service in this department.

Acting manager for 7 months and senior assistant manager. I managed a team of 12+ during a busy holiday season at the second highest volume location in the GTA, without a full management team, and oversaw two moves of the store for renovations during this time as well.
