Executive General Manager for Rockfield's national operations. Responsibilities include: strategic leadership and management; operational leadership and management, maintaining and developing stakeholder relationships; marketing/business development, R&D management, project portfolio management and directing resources.

Experiences to date include but are not limited to:• Project lead on the fatigue life assessment (FLA) of a Port Container Crane Crab as well as the remnant life update of the Port Container Crane itself (FLA conducted previously up to certain date). Project summary: analyse the crab under various load cases using ANSYS in accordance with AS1418-2009, AS4324.1, AS4100-1998 and AS1170.2:2011; measure strains during load testing and typical operational usage; calibrate FEA models and calculate the remnant life of the crab and crane in accordance with BS 7608:2014.• Proficiency in analysing, on-site inspecting, troubleshooting, remediating and specifying pumping and piping systems in water and slurry processes in accordance with AS4041 and ASMEB31.3. • Project lead for a ground-up, turn key design of a hydraulically powered/braked, 10t conveyor belt reeling machine and accompanying conveyor belt roll stand. Utilised analytical, FEA, 3DCAD and drafting techniques throughout project. • Experience designing various walkways, stairs, handrails and platforms in harsh and corrosive environments (wharfs/jetty’s/berth’s/process mines) using hand calculations, FEA and drafting techniques. • Project lead on large and small bridge capacity assessments. Key experience highlights includes: planning/collaboration with Government authorities; developing advanced remote, instrumentation/sensor systems – systems have been solar powered and 3G enabled to stream data/results to web platforms. Projects have been paramount in key asset life decisions.

Collaborated with JCU and sponsor Rockfield Technologies to conduct an Honours Thesis in the field of Bulk Materials Handling.

• Working collaboratively with the subject coordinator, Associate Dean and Industry partner to enhance the subject with modern, international real world projects/assessments; • Supervise, grade and give feedback to two tutorials weekly for all disciplines of engineering students.

Gained much exposure to specialised design techniques in a multidisciplinary environment servicing a diverse range of heavy mechanical, mining and bulk material industries. Personal development in both practical and technical aspects was gained through experience in instrumentation, computational mechanics (ANSYS & ELFEN), technical drawings with the aid of AutoCAD and Solidworks as well as high level research and technical report writing.

Supervised, graded and gave feedback to two tutorials per week for civil, mechanical and chemical engineering students.

• Assisting PhD students with sedimentology treatment and analysis in the laboratory. • Compile historical data on Queensland’s land use, cultivation, horticulture, population and mining.• Help research students to establish relationships between chemicals used in land use and the effect on downstream ecosystems.

• Hands-on maintenance experience on heavy and fixed plant equipment including conveyors, underground jaw crushers, cone crushers, ball/rod mills, pipework/valves, mono pumps, Warman pump rebuilds, shaft/winder inspections, relining rock-boxes as well as working on screens and feeders.• Preventative maintenance on an underground winding elevator, pump stations, compressors and fire fighting stations using previous running data, temperature analysis etc.

• Conducting field surveys using radiation and magnetic detection equipment, geological mapping, RC drill rig sampling and working with Native Title Owners to clear land for exploration.Note: the work was intermittent throughout the 21 month period as I was working only on University holidays.

The Square Pig is a city bar in central London with 150 seats and room for 300 standing in the main bar and terrace as well as a function room for up to 100. The bar turned over in excess of £17000 per week on food and beverage. Main responsibilities and duties included:• Working with Area & General managers to ensure the day to day operations were running smooth, business was hitting targets and that customer satisfaction was maximised. This included developing and implementing various marketing and promotional strategies.• Liaising with General Manager in all licensing, Health and safety and fire aspects of the business and ensuring requirements were compliant with relevant codes of conduct. • Recruitment and supervision of all bar, kitchen and security staff.• Generating weekly rosters.• Organising and managing events of up to 300 people with food and beverage.

The Riverview Tavern was at this time a sprawling modern Australian pub with 230 seats, 2 functions rooms, 10 hotel rooms, a bottle shop and a gaming & TAB betting outlet. The Tavern operated with a high volume turnover (> $80,000/week) on food & beverage, rooms revenue & retail liquor sales with further, non-disclosed revenue on the poker machines. Main duties included:• Liaising with Managing Directors on a regular basis to report on all food, beverage, event and gaming targets.• Worked cohesively with Managing Directors to ensure all necessary inductions and procedures were in place and followed relevant Work Place Health & Safety, Fire & Emergency Department and Queensland Health & Liquor Licensing Division codes of practice.• Full recruitment, rostering and supervision of all bar, kitchen, event and security staff. This included ensuring that the delegation of work loads were fair and most effective for the Tavern's strategic objectives.• Develop and implement effective promotional and marketing plans to engage a diverse demographic of people including army personnel, university students, young families and hospital workers in the nearby suburbs. Through these effective plans, the tavern hosted promotional events 6/7 nights per week increasing the baseline revenue by 11%. • Responsible for undertaking stocktake once per month.• Responsible for ordering of stock when Managing Director's were unable to, approximately 5% of the time.• Instrumental in negotiating with liquor product representatives to ensure the Tavern received profitable wholesale stock prices.

Work with mine engineers and geologists to survey and mark blasted ore bodies to inform mobile plant operators where to move product. Undertake underground drill hole sludge sampling for assay purposes. Work with health and safety teams to support site teams as required. Worked on 10/4 dido roster. In 2006, undertook some out of mine exploration survey/ filed technician roles.
