Had the opportunity to fill in for a coworker while they were on leave. It was an excellent way for me to learn more about our overseas business model and gain some international experience.

Lean Manufacturing• Implemented a card Kanban system which created one point scheduling and improved line item ship complete 10%.Managed Team Members• Developed the skills of my four direct reports into a team that can use problem solving tools to tackle complex issues such as on-time delivery and inventory.Inventory Reduction• Took the inventory from $7.5 mill to $4.2 mill over the course of three years, while increasing sales and on-time delivery.• Rationalized over $800,000 of inventory between legacy and new acquisition business.

Continuous Improvement• Through working with an existing supplier our plant was able remove a process step which decreased work in process inventory by $55,000 and saved $90,000 per year in labor and material costs.• Worked with a supplier to reduce cycle time the 10 parts resulting in $61,000 annual savings.Six Sigma Green Belt Certified• Received my green belt certification after completing a lean office six sigma project that yielded $30,000 in annual savings and a reduction of 120 hours of annual processing time.

Supplier Management• Took on the management of the division’s five worst delivering suppliers:• Improved delivery performance of three suppliers from has gone from delivering 29% on time in FY11 to 82% on time in FY12.• Two suppliers did not show the necessary improvements so an exit plan was implemented with these suppliers which brought $154,000 in annual cost savings.

Purchasing Responsibilities• Managed a group of 27 suppliers and responsible for $20 million in annual spend.• Selected to represent Quick Coupling Division at the global stainless steel council in charge $26 million of spend.

Project - Worked with a team to resource 20 castings which increased on time delivery from 34% to 92%.
