Leading a service reengineering effort, migrating services from an IBM MessageBroker platform to Java using JAX-WS and JBoss.

Participated on a number of enterprise-level, missing-critical projects at every level of the software development lifecycle. Maintained a custom enterprise client/server product, a VB6 application accessing Oracle and Access databases, providing bug-fixes and enhancements, including the identification and correction of a large number of memory leaks and unclosed database connections. Acted as lead GUI developer in the reengineering of a n-tier VB6 application into VB.NET. Responsible for the overall design, implementation, and unit testing of the interface while managing two other developers. Designed a plug-in architecture for use in a .Net application allowing us to fulfill ad-hoc requests without requiring a change to the application code base. Served on a team of two reengineering a C++ job scheduling and monitoring system into VB.NET throughout its entire lifecycle. Developed a Windows service with provided job queuing and load-balancing, job preparation, execution, and monitoring. Utilized multi-threading, distributed programming and processor performance monitoring. Designed for 99.9% uptime while also achieving a 50% overall performance increase. Lead team training sessions, including developing a curriculum, preparing and giving presentations, with the goal of MCAD certification for the entire development team.
