I tought an introductory course on Data Science for 180 undergraduate students coming with a very diverse background, from Economics to History studies. The course covers data aggregation and visualization in R, as well as basic statistics, social network analysis, text mining and recommender systems. Being among the first graduates of this two-year program later I became a Teaching Assistant there. My responsibilities included preparation of learning materials, tutorials and design of exercises on the online educational platform Stepik.org and coordination of the work of the amazing team of teaching assistants.

I studied the structure of academic motivation and its dynamic in a complex blended learning setting. I organized the web-based surveys and was responsible for analyzing and reporting the data.

I participated in the Learning analytics subproject where we analysed students’ activity data in the virtual learning environment in relation to students academic performance. Additionally, I study how friendship and advice networks as well as communication on the Q&A influence the resource use. Work in the group served as the basis of my final thesis.
