Responsible for the Group’s HR, Administration, administrative aspects of construction of a fifteen storey Office Complex. Also looked after various projects viz, US Raptor Security system / products, chartered aircraft services, as well as, of US Worldspace satellite radio in Pakistan.

I was Director in World Group an established and a renowned business Group in the field of automobiles, in Pakistan. I was pioneer in forming / establishing from a scratch and managing World Properties, a new subsidiary company of the Group. I was responsible for overall management including financial, marketing, sales, administration, HR and personnel. This Company dealt in real estate solutions, for corporate institutions, expatriates, banks, multinationals, diplomatic community and other selected clients. Our area of operation was primarily directed towards Clifton, Defence Housing Authority, PECHS, Army, Navy and Air Force Housing Societies. In addition, properties like farm houses, educational institutions, hospitals and ware houses were other specialties to our credit. We also dealt with property solutions in Dubai and all major cities at home.

The Group has over the decades a well reputed and an established name in the construction industry and estate. The Group has diversified to a number of fields, the principle being a fashion house having branded apparels, jewellery, shoes, cosmetics & perfumes, eye-wear, watches, leather products and a variety of accessories. Reporting to the Managing Director, I was responsible for implementing and coordinating policies and programmes for staff and covering several of the following, recruiting; compensation & benefits; training; employee & labour relations; counselling managers on HR policies; procedures & programmes and employee relations. The role also included, advising the Management, on various aspects of administration and security. The Group had construction projects both at home and abroad.

I was Chief Executive Officer from September 1998 till December 2003. It is amongst the elite Clubs of Pakistan, spread over an area of 32 acres, with over 3300 Members (families). The Club provides facilities of restaurants, snack bars, indoor / outdoor sports, business, seminar / conferences facilities, functions, parties and entertainment which are at par with any FIVE STAR hotel. The job involved overall responsibility of ensuring an efficient administrative teamwork of 370 persons, consisting of various cadres / disciplines, staff accommodation and food. As regards Club’s social activities, the quality and variety in culinary was triumphant and we also provided excellent sporting & recreational facilities for the families. It would not be out of context to mention, that when I took over this Institution, it was running into a loss. I was able to transform it as a financially viable set-up, managed substantial profits and established our credibility in the city. Over the years, I inducted 1200 high-profile members, organized multiple social / recreational / sports / food related activities and created flourishing business. During my tenure at the Club, I hosted the President of Pakistan, diplomats, expatriates, dignitaries and VIPs from Pakistan and abroad in the Club, on a regular basis. I had organized three international tournaments of squash & badminton; arranged Musical Concerts, Kite Flying Functions, Fashion Shows, Fireworks, Fancy Dress Show, Food Festivals and miscellaneous recreational activities. The attendance of such functions ranged from 300 to 8000 visitors. The Club was converted in to a second home for the members, providing them a reputed and a congenial environment for the family.

I was Director of HEJ Foundation Public School, a co-educational day school. The School had over 400 children and an academic / administrative staff of fifty. It is an English medium school following matriculation curriculum, i.e., up to tenth grade.

This Construction Company had over 4500 under construction residential and commercial units in three different projects. The appointment entailed management of human resources, administration and entire spectrum of construction operations at the head office. This included policy formulation, overall direction, their programmatic and financial aspects and coordination, monitoring of on-site progress and public dealings. I also looked after a Shopping Mall consisting of over 200 shops of various configurations. The responsibility included its maintenance and upkeep, organizing of festivals and security. The job culminated towards the completion of these projects.

. I have served in the Army from 1965 till 1995 wherein, I held a variety of command, staff and intelligence appointments, which enabled me to practically execute all aspects of administration, training, strategic intelligence and human resource management of a work force, up to 6000 persons, both within the country and abroad on international assignments. I have served for seven years on important intelligence cum security appointments. During various positions of responsibility, I conducted studies related to national security and defence; combined with geo-strategic, political, economic, social and other relevant aspects. Also, as a brigadier, I was entrusted the additional responsibility for the management of a 400-bed military hospital which included its administration, discipline, inspections, annual budget and development aspects.
