Delivery of specialist support to the organisation to embed the risk management strategy through review of the current risk reporting frameworks, risk training needs, accountability/monitoring and Board assurance arrangements. This involved utilising current information to establish processes for analysis and scrutiny of risks and the establishment of corporate risk assurance processes aligned to PHL integrated governance arrangements.

Responsible for ensuring the best possible standard of nursing care was delivered to users of all services provided by the Trust.Visible nursing leadership, direction and control of the Trust-wide Nursing leadership, Quality Improvement, Patient Experience & Involvement, Professional Standards and Commissioner quality assurance, CQC and NHS regulator relationships.

Supporting the provision of leadership, direction and control of the Trust-wide professional standards, Quality Governance, Compliance & Effectiveness , Patient Safety, Infection Control, Safeguarding and Deputy Director of Infection Prevention and Control. Operational management of Trust-wide safeguarding services.

Leadership, direction and control of the Trust-wide Quality and Safety and Assurance systems. Responsible for the strategic management and co-ordination of the Trust’s corporate and clinical governance, compliance and assurance agenda including; developing and implementing strategies, policies and systems, and performance measurement to deliver the requirements of the regulatory framework (e.g. CQC, NHSLA, National Patient Safety Agency, Monitor).Head of Department for the Trust-wide quality and safety assurance function including leading the Trust’s agenda in terms of; Risk Management & Health & Safety Governance, Patient Safety, Risk Management Standards, CQC Compliance, Clinical Audit and Effectiveness, Information Governance, and Customer Services.
