A pioneer in the Telecom Sector with a career spanning 30 years, he has held leadership positions in all 3 verticals of the sector - Technology Providers, Device companies, and Operators. A member of the Core Leadership Team at Vodafone Idea (an Aditya Birla and Group and Vodafone Partnership), which planned and executed the World’s largest telecom merger. Currently, leads the Company's Regulatory, Public Policy, and Government Relations activities along with Industry Advocacy, Communications, Reputation Management and CSR functions. Prior to this, he was the Managing Director of Nokia India and Sony Mobile India. Has been a member of the Global Leadership Team of Lucent Technologies, Ericsson, Nokia and Vodafone. Has experience of driving sales, marketing, strategy and operations. In his varied leadership experience, he has led large transformation and M&A projects, turned around companies, set up start-ups and JVs with Indian conglomerates and MNCs like Tata Group, AT&T and Lucent Technologies.Passionate about Nation Building Initiatives, such as local manufacturing and exports, R&D and skills/ capacity development, he has also mentored start-ups. He holds leadership positions in industry bodies as Chairman of ASSOCHAM Digital Communications Council, Member of National Council of FICCI, AIMA, CII, EBG. He is the Vice Chairman of the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) and Telecom Export Promotion Council (TEPC), as well as Vice President of Telecom Sector Skills Council (TSSC). Has also held office as the President of Telecom Equipment Manufacturer Association (TEMA).
