GLR gebruikt momenteel een zelf gebouwd studentinformatiesysteem. De informatie uit dit systeem moet worden geconverteerd naar Osiris. De IT-afdeling van GLR verzorgt deze conversie zelf, met enige ondersteuning van ondergetekende.

In de Bredase wijk Haagse Beemden wonen duizenden mensen nabij een 150kV hoogspanningslijn. Wetenschappers hebben een statistisch verband aangetoond tussen het wonen bij een hoogspanningslijn en gezondheidsproblemen. Samen met buurtbewoners, politici en Tennet zoekt de werkgroep Hoogspanning Haagse Beemden naar een oplossing.

Elke week ontvangen de Nederlandse bibliotheken een flinke stapel recensies van nieuwe boeken. Op basis van deze recensies besluiten de bibliotheken boeken al dan niet aan te kopen, en aan hun collectie toe te voegen. Sinds februari 1987 ben ik één van de recensenten van de "Nederlandse Bibliotheekdienst", tegenwoordig Biblion genaamd. Mijn specialisatie is stripboeken...

In nauwe samenwerking met leverancier CACI converteer ik de studievolginformatie uit studentinformatiesysteem Alluris naar Osiris. Op verzoek van de school voer ik tegelijkertijd een complete reorganisatie uit van de resultaatstructuren. Alle codes gaan op de schop. Cursussen worden gesplitst en/of samengevoegd. Echt een gevalletje 'hogere wiskunde'...

Een samenwerkingsverband van ROC's wilde overstappen van studentinformatiesysteem Eduarte naar Osiris. Om dit te kunnen faciliteren moest Osiris flink worden uitgebreid, waarna ik voor de betreffende scholen de conversie kon verzorgen:- ROC A12, live in juli 2021- MBO Rijnland, live in augustus 2021- MBO Utrecht, live in augustus 2021- ROC Aventus, live in oktober 2021- ROC Deltion, live in december 2021- ROC Da Vinci, live in januari 2022- Hoornbeeck College, live in maart 2022- ROC Top onderbrak de implementatie, maar ging alsnog live in december 2022

De ROC's Helicon, Citaverde en het Wellant College fuseren tot één school: Yuverta. De drie databases van studentinformatiesysteem Eduarte moeten worden samengevoegd tot één, en geconverteerd naar Osiris.

Augustus 2013 - maart 2014:- Conversie van studievolginformatie uit Progress, Progress.WWW en DOP naar Osiris Maart 2014 - april 2015:- In afwachting van een geautomatiseerde koppeling, op afroep aanvullingen op het medewerkersbestand verzorgen (conversie van RAET naar Osiris). Mei 2015 - maart 2016:- Het opzetten van een rapportagetool met behulp van MS Access.

Ooit gebruikte Zuyd Hogeschool studievolgprogramma Volg+ DOS. Sinds een conversie naar Osiris wordt dat oude programma niet meer gebruikt. Incidenteel kreeg de hogeschool verzoeken om afschriften van cijferlijsten, maar men beschikte niet meer over de benodigde software. Baldi Dekker kreeg de oude Fox Pro-database aan de praat, genereerde tienduizenden afschriften van cijferlijsten en converteerde deze in losse HTML-pagina’s. Als een oudstudent nu een afschrift van een cijferlijst wil, dan staat deze al klaar.

As a self employed grade evaluation system specialist (working under the Visioen flag) I frequently work for Avans Hogeschool. I started at Hogeschool West-Brabant (now known as Avans Hogeschool) in May 1994, when the university worked on implementing the Volg+ grade evaluation system. I managed the system for a couple of years, provided courses for users and even lectured students (CE and MER) on marketing information systems.After various projects I made my come back to Avans in September 2006, to perform three conversion projects:- converting the systems to be "kader-OER" complying (successfully completed in January 2007);- converting the old Volg+ system to the Oracle based SIS Osiris (successfully completed in August 2007);- converting the old Cats-Caas system to the Oracle based SIS Osiris (successfully completed in December 2007).Since then, I have carried out several new projects for Avans Hogeschool. For instance:- fine tuning the implementation of the StudieLink system in the Osiris SIS;- adapting and extending the software for the certificate registration programme in MS Access;- establishing characteristics, based in the information in the database, to quickly recognise foreign students;- to assist Avans in converting the old personnel data to the new RAET/HRiS-system..

At the NHTV (National University for Tourism and Traffic), I converted the database of the old Cats-Caas grade evaluation system to the Oracle based SIS Osiris. NHTV had the conversion audited by Ernst & Young accountants. Their conclusion: could not have been done better. This project was successfully completed in May 2010.In May 2012 the NHTV expressed the desire to also convert the student enrollment system. I returned to the NHTV and started working on that project. It involved converting student information from CatsNK, financial information from FINX, notes and remarks from BANK, enrollment information from CRI and various other sources, all to the new Osiris system. This project was successfully concluded in April 2013.Finally I participated in NHTV's BronHO-project: a project in which all educational institutions were connected to a national database, owned by the Ministery of Education, containing all information of enrollments and grades back to 1991. That was quite a challenge...

Studielink is a foundation that takes care of the enrolments of students, in study programmes at Dutch universities. Every week, Studielink provides the universities with management reports on the enrolments. In december 2008 I designed and programmed a low tech tool (by using AutoIt scripting) to generate these reports. Until June 2012, I used this tool every week to generate the management reports on the new enrolments.

Codarts has traded in their Volg+ grade evaluation system for Osiris (Oracle based). I took care of coverting the data from the old system to the new one. The score? A nice, round 100.00 percent match...

When I started at Ichthus Hogeschool in Rotterdam (now Hogeschool Inholland), back in 1997, the idea was that I would train their application manager in how to manage the grade evaluation system. But, like Monsterboard says: "There is always a better job"... The managers often quit their job at the university before the training was complete. After a while I suggested that Hogeschool InHolland could outsource the management of this application, to me. That would be cheaper than training a new manager every year. And so we agreed.In 2006 Hogeschool InHolland started working with a new student information system: PeopleSoft, that was to be managed by their own staff. A project to convert the old databases to the new SIS structure was my last for Hogeschool InHolland.

OAB/Omega, a subsidiary of Roccade Public (a.k.a. Getronics/PinkRoccade) had three grade evaluation system experts on staff, but often needed extra capacity. In 1997 I was asked to assist.Under the OAB/Omega-flag I participated in various projects. One of them was the implementation of a new grade evaluation system at the Technical University Delft.My involvement was:- implementing the new grade evaluation systems;- writing manuals and training material;- providing an on-line help for the system;- training the users of the system;- assisting the university in working with the new system.In March 2000, Roccade Public sold OAB-Omega to the Rovict group. Rovict had sufficient staff and thus no need for freelancers like yours truly...

From 1984 until 1994 the Dutch broadcasting station Veronica published a magazine aiming at teens. In "Club Veronica Magazine" I published numerous articles, on various subjects, and interviewed people like Brian Henson (Muppets), Reinoud Oerlemans (Eyeworks) and Joost Swarte (graphic artist). My favourite series were interviews fans could do with their idol. Fund raising organization for Red Cross projects, by publishing cartoon and comic books. Started as a spin off of Band Aid. Proceeds were used by the Swiss Red Cross to fund campaigns in Sudan...

This advertising studio produced illustrations and animations for advertising campaigns and newspapers/magazines. I managed projects for ANWB, Mazda, Nationale Nederlanden, Noord-Hollands Dagblad, Rabobank, Randstad and many other companies.
