After my B.Sc. on electrical engineering I worked for 3 years in a mining company (Rio Novo) from the Andrage Gutierrez Group. The main tasks were leading and coordinating the electrical maintenance and service with a 20-men team working in the fields of transmission, distribution and electrical installation, electrical machines and drives. I did my M.Sc. on electrical drives with the theme parameter estimation on vector controlled induction machines.Worked for 1 year in a private university as an assistant lecturer for the subjects: electric circuits, electrical machines and drives and power electronics.Since 1999 I worked at the TU Chemnitz as a research assistant and did my Ph.D. on electrical engineering on the field control of doubly-fed induction generators for wind power plants. During the Ph.D. period I worked for 3 years on a research project with the Voith Turbo Wind Co. in Germany for a new wind power generator concept. From March 2008 until March 2010 I worked as a researcher at the TU Dresden on wind energy projects and leading a cooperation project between the TU Dresden and the UFMG in Brazil.From March, 2010 until December, 2011 I was with the Voith Hydro Ocean Current Technologies as a development engineer. My activities are the design, building and operation of submarine tidal generators and connection to the grid.Since January, 2012 I joined Voith Hydro Basic Development doing applied R&D on water generators cooling efficiency nd power systems simulation with connected hydroelectric, pump-storage, thermal and wind power plants.Specialties: Research on electrical machines and drives, power electronics and control systems. Grid stability and connection of renewable energy sources, wind and tidal power.
