Responsible and accountable for the strategic development and delivery of quality, accessible and competitive dental health care services, and the ongoing growth of the depth and breadth of the services delivered.Responsible for all matters to do with the clinical governance of Australian Unity's health care businesses.Strategy to Reality: Moving from concept, to delivery of operations, always on-time and under-budget, the business grew from a single three-surgery practice to twenty surgeries across four locations, whilst developing a team of key people that stayed for the journey. Business Leadership: Business growth was demanded by the clientele and was required to be self-funded by the business through the achievement of industry-leading fiscal results. In 2014 the business achieved 20% NPBT, 82% engagement, 26% reduction in injuries and a 82% client satisfaction rating. These results demonstrate the culmination of an improvement initiative that has seen e.g. a 57% increase in revenue and a doubling (105%) improvement in profitability over the past five years.Governance: Researched, designed, developed, implemented and managed a clinical governance system to meet the diverse needs of a business involved in healthcare research, funding and delivery, all of which were dynamic and evolving areas of activity. The system was commended by the lead auditor during a subsequent external accreditation process.

Strategic and operational responsibility for growing the network of dental and wellbeing centres operated by Australian Unity. Grew the business from a single, three-chair, loss-making practice in Elizabeth Street Melbourne, into a four practice, twenty-chair business.Product Development: Faced with the challenge of increasing costs of claims, a need was identified to provide a unique ‘No Gap’ Preventive Dental cover. The program participants were recorded as having reduced costs of all-cause claims and are part of the sample in a current PhD research project. Thought Leadership: The development of a thorough understanding of all aspects of the dental and broader health care industry. This knowledge base has resulted in multiple invitations to contribute to industry based and other conferences where improvement opportunities are explained and explored.
