CRDN is a Cambridge based charity aiming to create rare disease awareness and build a community and network within the Cambridgeshire area. It aims to engage and connect relevant stakeholders from Cambridge University and the Cambridge Biomedical Cluster in order to address rare diseases more effectively. CRDN hosts creative and educational events each year and an annual conference. It is a non-profit organisation established by a group of postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers in 2012.The first festival took place over three days in May 2013 simultaneously in multiple pubs across London, Oxford and Cambridge. It has now expanded into 9 countries, 40 cities, over 3 nights covering 6 themes. My role - Co-ordinator of the Cambridge Neuroscience pub with responsibilities including:-*Managing the venue, sound and lighting and logistics*recruiting and co-ordinating 11 speakers, musicians and volunteers*engaging 170 members of the public on each of the 3 evenings*co-hosting over 3 evenings*liaising with and reporting to local media and BBC radio
