From May 2023, I was offered the opportunity to step in as Marketing and Communications Officer to cover a period of maternity within the team, and following a successful 12 months, this has been made my current permanent role.I am responsible for devising and executing creative campaigns, managing a wide range of events, such as open events, schools liaison events and awards ceremonies and writing copy for a variety of audiences and communications, including current/prospective students, parents, employers and other local stakeholders.I am also the marketing team lead for managing the College website and ensuring all content is up-to-date, relevant and engaging for all audiences.

In recognition of my work within the team since the completion of my apprenticeship, I was promoted to Marketing Coordinator in 2020.Main duties and responsibilities in this role included planning and coordinating a wide variety of events, writing and designing communications for internal and external stakeholders and managing the College website and intranet, including the redevelopment and launch of a new college website in 2021, and a new intranet in 2022.

Following the successful completion of my Marketing Apprenticeship, my permanent appointment as Marketing Assistant came with responsibility for website and intranet management, communications, social media content creation, events management, in-house graphic design and production of college literature.This period allowed me to develop a broad range of marketing and communications skills, and identify my key strengths in communications, copywriting and events management.

After completing my A Levels, I was hired as an Apprentice Marketing Assistant at Northampton College, based within the Marketing team. This was a unique opportunity to shadow and learn from an award winning FE marketing team, and try my hand at all areas of the marketing and communications function. As an apprentice, I was offered many opportunities for further development outside of my role, including verbally presenting an awards submission for the College to the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce, and taking part in the College's Big Rig Low Carbon Challenge alongside female apprentices from all sector areas across Northampton. I was also presented with an award from the College for achievement within my apprenticeship.I successfully completed my City and Guilds Level 3 Business Administration qualification ahead of schedule, during which I was assessed for competency in events management, customer service and presentation skills, and passed exams in administration and general business skills.
