CyberQual provides services and develops advanced systems for supporting quality assurance in medical diagnostic imaging.Under the direct supervision of the CEO/owner, my main duty is managing the R&D of software products. AutoPIA, the company’s flagship product, is a software for automatic analysis of test objects’ images used to evaluate image quality and monitoring diagnostic image equipments. It comes in three flavours: a standard desktop application, a web application delivered as a service (SaaS), and a SDK to be included into other software. All of them share the same algorithmic engine and database layer, but differ in the interface to their clients. With the help of a junior software developer, I manage all the aspects of the production: from defining specifications to code development and testing, from choosing and managing the technological platform to writing documentation.Moreover, I participate in the definition of the company marketing strategy and managerial accounting and I have the direct responsibility over the company procurement and infrastructure management.

SalesRiver (former Cybertec Research) is a company developing a virtual sales associate to be integrated into eCommerce sites. It is a web application that asks customers for their needs, infers product features, selects the optimal solutions and explains how they satisfy customer’s needs.As the R&D manager, I reported to the CEO/owner and I took care of all R&D activities, the more relevant of which were: identify requirements, manage change requests, develop code, choose development and deployment platforms, protect intellectual properties (patents and trademarks).

The first experience with Cybertec consisted in maintaining and developing the software infrastructure and the GUI subsystem of the company flagship product: an APS (Advanced Planning System) software for planning and scheduling the industrial production.

During a period at Cybertec Research I was occupied part-time (20%) in the analysis, design, development and deployment of an embedded system for guiding an unmanned parachute. The guidance algorithms were aimed at searching the best trajectory to land near a target avoiding obstacles.

LightObjects was a CERN spin-off project consisting in a web application aimed at analyzing documents and automatically creating a semantic web of knowledge that could be navigated through standard web links. In this environment, I developed the software infrastructure and the web application graphical user interface (GUI).

Alfacon developed a modular ERP software, with heavy personalization for each customer. In this environment, the team I belonged to was in charge of developing the core libraries.

For the User Support team, I developed a new bug tracking system for the first level of the Help Desk. The development included all phases, from analysis to implementation using a specific platform (Remedy Actions System).

I wrote my master degree's thesis, based on analysis, design and implementation of two subsystems of WIRED (World-Wide Web Interactive Event Display), an application to visualize high energy particle collisions. I developed the 3D visualization engine and the client/server infrastructure for reading data from the collision database.
