Optics prototyping within the Advanced Optical Fabrication team primarily focused on high-performance freeform polymer optics. Also worked to solve production problems encountered when trying to scale novel optics into production.Optomechanical engineering - received optical prescriptions from optical engineers and designed manufacturable lenses, prisms, and reflectors with appropriate optical and mechanical tolerances. Created the associated tooling and processes for diamond turning, injection molding, or compression molding.Measured optics against defined optical tolerances. This work included developing new surface-form measurement technologies.Designed lens assemblies and developed assembly processes for tight-tolerance freeform lens assemblies. Measured mechanical accuracy of assemblies and worked with optical metrology group to corelate assembly accuracy with the optical performance of the system to further refine tolerances before sending the optical designs to production.

As a part of the Research Engineering department, I am responsible for the opto-mechanical development of a wavefront engineered in-vivo multiphoton microscope. The wavefront engineering is used to enable volumetric imaging via fast-focusing and aberration correction via indirect wavefront sensing. I had ownership of the optomechanical design, and alignment of the microscope. My duties also included characterizing the performance of the microscope and integrating other experimental subsystems, such as an eye-tracking and a visual-stimulus systems.

I worked on the product design company's core HMD and AR core product offerings as a mechanical design engineer. While attending the University of Washington, I was able to leverage my competency in mechanical design to get a paid undergraduate research assistantship spearheading the mechanical design of a couple x-ray spectrometers. These instruments were used to conduct cutting edge research on batteries and solar photovoltaics.

Repaired, calibrated, serviced, and helped create database of diverse scientific laboratory equipment. Also built a PLC based laser safety interlock system.
