Oracle Cloud Financials Consultant
Oracle Financials And Supply Chain Consultant
R12 Oracle Applications Consultant
I am responsible for providing solutions across all business areas. I provide the business with second line support for all Finance applications and first line support all manufacturing applications.Delivered a solution to improve performance on I-procurement Self-Service forms. Users across the whole estate were facing issues with performance when performing mass receipting. After conducting in-depth analysis with the DBA team indexes were utilised on the appropriate columns in key tables. This approach was less invasive than applying patches recommended by Oracle support but still supported. Procurement has seen an 80% improvement in on screen availability and saved 3.5 man days each week. The procurement team are using saved man hours to perform key house keeping tasks. Designed and documented a solution to assist the business in locating key documents within workflow. This report had reduced calls by 70% which were previously directed to the functional team for analysis.Successfully delivered & implemented a solution for the business to ensure that the payment process within Oracle is available and responsive. This solution ensured that key suppliers were paid on time and goods and services were delivered as required.Improved month end process by automating and saving 10 man hours specifically around GRNI spend. The recovered man hours are now being used on higher value added activity. Created out of hours support pack, introducing key flow diagrams assisting functional staff in resolving manufacturing queries whilst on call. This solution has saved the functional team 15 minutes per query and an overall yearly saving of 45 man hours.Implemented prototype solution to enable Corporate Finance to perform fixed assets prior period adjustments to adhere to IAS 36, this represented the accounting as required by the business. Catch up depreciation was represented in the current period and remaining depreciation was amortized across the useful life.
Senior Oracle Applications Consultant
Responsible for providing functional/configuration support on both R12.1.2/ R12.1.3 production/training environments, specialising in Oracle financial modules. I also provided first line support for the training Business Intelligence (BI) instance.Provided third line technical/functional support on both R12.1.2/R12.1.3 instances. This included issue and bug resolution and patch analysis. Conducted performance analysis (System/User) on both R12 training environments. Due to the limitations in hardware resources these environments needed to be configured in a different way to that of the production instances. Only mandatory maintenance and standard sub ledger concurrent requests were required. Identified the required changes which were approved by the technical architect and then implemented the solution. The solution improved system availability/performance by 40%. The training consultants were now able to deliver their oracle training successfullyDesigned and documented a proposed solution on how the training environments architecture should be implemented in the future. Based on various consultations with the end user and the technical architect I proposed a solution that would isolate the training environments from production therefore minimising any risks around data and enable more frequents clones from the master environment. This solution would save the training team one full working week of prerequisite work prior to the new wave of training. Defined and Implemented Financial Statement Generator (FSG) templates on R12.1.3 for FSG reports which the business use for financial reporting. Previously they were not making full use of the Reports Manager functionality in R12. The business wanted specific branding/formatting on the templates before go live. The new clients (NHS Commissioning Board) found these reports easy to read whilst still having the ability to perform drill down into sub ledger transactions.

The reports have also identified gaps in current AR process for example customers are missing key data such as credits limits and bill to ship and to addresses.Working with Finance, investigation and analysis had shown that some of the assets were being depreciated too early; therefore their ‘Useful Life’ needed extending. Managed and conducted R12 feasibility study with contractors within DWP to understand whether we should upgrade or re-implement. Produced detailed evaluation for the executive team.Completed review of all business process maps relating to Oracle Financial core modules. This was required by the business to ensure all documentation is kept up to date and in a best practice standard format. The exercise proved valuable as potential issues were identified in the AR module, if cash could not be allocated to a customer it was left unallocated. As the key analyst on the project I worked closely with HSBC asking them to provide extra information on the bank statements. This exercise proved successful as 70% of the 60 million pounds unallocated cash was allocated. The remaining cash that could not be allocated was written off after ministerial approval. Performance and Tuning - Implemented complete re-design of e-Business Suite concurrent managers to increase business throughput and to comply with Oracle Best Practice. This resulted in transactions completing their lifecycle much more resource effectively. Implemented Oracle Best Practice for purging workflow data within E-business Suite to improve performance and recovered 300 gigabytes worth of storage space.Worked closely with third Party suppliers (Functional Consultants/ DBA’s) negotiating and driving down service costs where possible.
