CS 0445, Spring 2024 - Algorithms and Data Structures - 1Course OverviewThis course provides an algorithmic basis for further study in Computer Science. This is an introduction to the design and implementation of fundamental data structures and related algorithmic techniques (searching, sorting, recursion). In this course we examine these ideas in the context of an Object Oriented language, namely Java. Students are expected to complete a number of programming projects where they apply the concepts presented.Objectives:By the end of the course students should be able to:Design and implement medium-size Java programs.Internalize principles of object-oriented programming, including data hiding, encapsulation and polymorphism.Become skilled in common data structures and their applications to various computational tasks.Design and implement basic data structures from scratch.Implement common algorithms and analyze their complexity.

Developed data science solutions to health data by using advanced machine learning algorithms of logistic regression, Naïve Bayes classification to analyze patient’s health history to predict the angiographic status and probability of a possible heart attack with the greatest accuracy. The result of the analysis in the research worked best with the logistic regression model and it rightly predicted patient’s angiographic disease status for value 1: > 50% or 0: <50% diameter narrowing in any major vessels of lmt, ladprox, laddist, diag, cxmain, ramus, om1, om2, rcaprox and rcadist.Developed technical solutions to multivariate business data by using advanced machine learning algorithms of regression, classification, clustering and decision tree for monitoring patient’s health data through analysis and documenting matching requirement based on attribute analytics. The weka analytics software was used to test the data set for sentiment analysis of drug experience over multiple facets, transferability of models among domain and the transferability of models among different data sources.Designed and tested various decision support systems to provide solutions to complex business decision by understanding associated task of classification, regression and clustering.

Lead responsible for Designing and testing of decision support systems in the development, maintenance and support of advanced DEBIAN technology to integrate workflow model and decision tree analysis. This project helped to manage project procedures and selection of appropriate processing techniques in processing tasks related to signal processing, noise attenuation and resultant improvement in migration techniques.Project lead responsible for detailed interpretation of 2D & 3D seismic data, well log data and AVO studies by mapping out new structures that may serve as new exploration frontiers for hydrocarbon accumulation using the powerful 3D modelling software tool. This has helped the company to identify new appraisal wells that are currently producing oil and gas. This appraisal wells yielded about 200,000 barrels of oil per day.Project geophysicist responsible for ensuring improved reservoir characterization techniques with seismic inversion and rock physics using different algorithms to identify pay zones in areas of interest. This has helped the company to identify new drillable reserves that are economically viable and are currently producing about 100,000 thousand barrels of oil in a day targeting a four well fold.Senior Project lead responsible for preparing a newly improved technical and Work Execution plan in response to received Request for Quote from end-clients to produce quantifiable results

Lead data analyst responsible for data mining, seismic interpretation of 2D & 3D seismic data, petrophysical and well log data by identifying new structures based on analytics using the SMT Kingdom software tool. The results of this have served as new exploration frontiers for hydrocarbon accumulation and has helped the company to identify new exploratory, appraisal and development wells that are currently producing oil and gas.Project analyst that ensured QA/QC of all seismic and well projects based on data rendering, regression analysis, data mining and 3D visualization of data for attribute analysis, inversion and data regeneration using petrel tool. The results of this have helped to obtain data that revealed true sub surface imaging, signal information, noise attenuation and true depth migration by applying the proper velocity analysis compared to the original data signal without cutting out relevant information.Geophysicist responsible for research on passive seismic known as Geospectra IPDS survey.
