ATONARP is developing a novel platform of Smart Spectrometers to bring real-time quantitative molecular analysis, imaging and inferencing to a wide range of applications in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and semiconductor sectors. Combining recent advances in artificial intelligence, mass spectrometry and optics, Atonarp's miniaturized molecular sensors are set to revolutionize the way we sense, process and interpret data at molecular level.The software platforms team that I manage specifies, designs, develops, deploys and maintains a unified software platform for all ATONARP products - its optical and mass spectrometers.My responsibilities include:- Outlining what cloud and desktop apps, firmware setup and software tools are required to make a viable first-of-its-kind product, specify requirements and track deliverables.- Working with first level managers and team leads to close knowledge/technical gaps, translate them to specifications, and to plan the execution of cloud and desktop apps that allow the various users -end users, developers, field application engineers and manufacturing partners - to use ATONARP spectrometers. - Managing subordinates, supervising their work and laying down processes for the team- Building teams: setting goals, performing performance reviews, hiring new team members.- Preparing reports & summaries for upper management and board members (investors)- Collaborating with sales and marketing to perform joint and incremental sales activities

The Analytics & Algorithms team I led, is responsible for developing tools that:- Condition data obtained from our optical and mass spectrometers using signal processing- Build predictive models to accurately infer analyte concentrations in liquids, and molecular fractions in gases- Simulate non-linear optical processes using Monte Carlo techniques We also developed the initial cloud and desktop apps that enable user interaction with our spectrometers and compute systems, and took this forward in my next role as Director, Software Platforms.

Responsibilities:- Development of an object recognition system that can be trained for user-definedtaxonomies- Real-time image classification system for over 1000 classes with low training time, foruse with dynamic data sets- Exploring performance and tradeoffs between traditional feature-based (DPM, HOG),and neural network (CNN) based approaches using standard benchmarks, to decide onoptimal solution- Performance tuning of open source CNN frameworks based on various networkarchitectures and solver properties- Mentoring and working with a team of 5 junior engineers

Responsibilities:- Developing hardware/software infrastructure for camera calibration/characterization, image/video processing and video quality assessment.- Designing the manufacturing process for an omni-directional HD camera for Polycom CX5100 and CX5500 products – automated lens alignment and focus adjustment stations.- Software design and implementation of the computer vision algorithms for calibrating the omni-directional camera – spatial calibration, defect pixel calibration, uniformity calibration, and image stitching & stitching error measurement.- Managing technical aspects of the entire camera manufacturing process at factories in Taiwan, China and Thailand – issue detection and rectification at the various stations, and data logging and reporting structures for efficient fault detection.

Responsibilities:- Implementation of the spatial calibration, stitching error measurement and uniformity calibration for the Microsoft RoundTable camera- Implementation of ISO and other standard photometric tests for the camera sensor – SNR, Dynamic range, Color quality.- Fieldwork for production line design, implementation, test, integration, automation and optimization for MS RoundTable in China.

Responsibilities:- Optimizing the standard H.264 baseline reference encoder and decoder, on the PC for low motion video conferencing applications.- Platform specific optimization of the H.264 reference encode and decoder, targeting C64x and C55x – memory map optimization, algorithm optimization to facilitate caching, use of intrinsics and EDMA etc.
