In my near-decade experience, I have been patiently trained to engineer & build network infrastructure from the field to the closet. I began as an apprentice locksmith while the industry was quickly evolving into access control. This gave me entry level knowledge about circuits, as well as hardware installation experience. There were also many opportunities to get hands-on experience with programming cameras and access control systems. Realizing my aptitude for programming, I started a new journey into data networking. I was lucky enough to be surrounded by patient teachers, willing to give me any opportunity to take the lead. Every mistake I made created a new opportunity to learn how to fix and avoid it in the future. Once a lead technician position opened up, I quickly adjusted to running 200+ cable jobs as well as assisting other sites for companies like Amazon, Lowes, Hilton, Southland Casino, and many others. My biggest role was installing and managing the access control and surveillance security for all the Baptist Medical hospitals in the mid south. I am most proud of my accomplishments during the peak of the covid-19 pandemic. During this time, there were no hospital beds left in the Memphis area. We were selected by the government to be a part of turning an old Commercial Appeal building into an overflow hospital. Within 2 weeks, my company pulled and terminated 3,200 nurse stations to meet the deadlines and save lives.Soon after I was married, I began desiring a new challenge. My relationship with the distributor ADI Global led to an incredible opportunity in low-voltage sales. The decision to leave the field was risky, but both me and my wife agreed it was the right decision. I was fortunate enough to personally see through to the success of many companies, working alongside them to engineer systems right for the tasks they needed to accomplish, as well as negotiated costs/project registered equipment with vendors to win bids. My biggest accomplishment was managing the product of every new Autozone built in the world.After a year, I realized that my passion was not fulfilled by making a budget. Now, I work at Skycop Inc., where we believe that there will always be a better way to bring safety to our communities. All hours, we are working to reinvent the concept of surveillance to make the world a better place.
