I am currently pursuing a Master's in Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, after graduating with my M.S. in Applied Physics in May 2023. My academic and professional journey has been driven by a passion for science, technology, and programming.Previously, I worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Physics and Optical Sciences at UNC Charlotte. This role allowed me to hone my analytical and research skills, contributing to various projects in microscopy and optics. My experience in this field has provided me with a strong foundation in problem-solving and data analysis, which I am excited to apply to my studies and future career in computer science.I have a strong interest in software development, data science, app development, and related fields. Graduate Research Assistant
As a graduate research assistant I had the opportunity to work on several research projects involving metrology, spatial light modulators, machine learning, python, MATLAB, digital holographic microscopy, phase contrast microscopy, and quantitative phase microscopy (QPM). My thesis was based off the latter. QPM is a technique that allows for the retrieval of phase information from transparent, microscopic objects. From the phase information a 3D model of a sample can be reconstructed. I contributed research on a novel QPM technique that can provide 3D information of a sample (a HeLa cell for example) in near real time. This technique is accurate, space-efficient, and inexpensive compared to contemporary methods.

Undergraduate Research Assistant
I conducted research with Dr. Tino Hofmann and his research group from October 2019 to August 2020 on the optical response and manipulability of 1D photonic crystals fabricated by stereolithography, a form of 3D printing that uses a UV laser to polymerize a liquid resin. The bulk of my work consisted of collecting and analyzing spectroscopic data in the terahertz spectral range, reporting on research results during group meetings, assisting in the writing and publishing of research papers, and reading relevant scientific literature.I am currently conducting research with Dr. Rosario Porras-Aguilar on the evaluation of spatial light modulators for reconfigurable metrology of freeform optics.
