hi im bao and i'm a brand and placemaking practitioner with my own practice - fourth space - which aims to reimagine third spaces and build brands through transcendental and unconventional experiences. i'm also a food & drink trend researcher, budding orange wine importer, and a food and travel contributing writer. i'm a huge ideas and people person, an all round culture vulture and an intellectually curious cat. my interests lie broad and deep in brand storytelling, arts, food & drink, entertainment, heritage, tourism, wellness, design, hospitality and east asian culture. i have >14 years of marketing experience, and cut my teeth at the singapore economic development board - imo the best training one can get. cumulatively, i have spent 12 years in the public service (also did stints at the singapore tourism board and national arts council), 8 years in branding, 6 years as a people manager and 3 years in the visual arts sector. i've also lived abroad in china for 6 years.my most rewarding career moments include:-creating gillman barracks' popular art after dark open house series with saw up 10k visitors in a night-launching edb's 'dear world' international brand campaign during covid which both attracted global c-suite attention and helped rallied the nation -pioneering stb's branded entertainment and celebrity influencers strategy as part of its diversified marketing strategy -pulling off a music video collaboration with grammy artiste billie eilish from lead to production day in 9 calendar days-co-creating a hbo tv documentary series on singapore haute and hawker cuisine to spotlight our local food scene to the world
