Her early career began in a computer store where technicians built white-box computers with custom components and where she learned the knack of applying thermal paste with precision. CPUs in that era were often returned by the overzealous burnt to a crisp with overclocking attempts. Van's unique upbringing has taught her to view adversity and uncertainty as opportunities. Since 2018, she has shifted her focus towards socially responsible business. She has served as Dell CSR Ambassador and Australian lead for a Solar Community Hub, an ESG global program connecting untapped communities to technologies that transform lives. Van has founded VXC, a social tech company, to advance socially responsible business and investments in global markets by leveraging data as an equaliser.
