About Baptiste Perrin

I joined GE in 2005 after a first experience at THALES as a software and hardware engineer in real time embedded processing for defense industry. I then moved to GE Healthcare and grew in my leadership, discovered different areas of the healthcare industry. Today, my responsibilities cover engineering activities around artificial intelligence (AI), oncology and partnership. I'm in touch with french ecosystem and GE EDISON with a focus on Advanced Visualization (2D, 3D or 4D). In GE, I started with the management of installed base on critical real time components inside interventional business. I then moved to pre-market activities and I lead different engineering teams (hardware and software) on different projects like DISCOVERY IGS. I then chose the software organization AW which offers software imaging solutions around CT, MR, PET modalities. Since 2015, I first changed the VnV methodologies and aligned it with Agile, promoting strong relationship between the development and the test inside the teams. I then regrouped the oncological expertise in France and created the oncological team. The team many contributed to deliver PROView (MR prostate), HVCAR (CT Hepatic) including AI, PETVCAR (MICT full boday), BoneVCAR. I initiated advanced project on artificial intelligence and started interactions with academics and startups. Looking backward, I would say that my main areas of interest are : Driving people, Delivering product Innovations and releasing, sustaining product on the market.

    In my role, I lead research and collaborative projects with partners in the Imaging business. I have connections with France and Europe ecosystems. In France, AI DReAM is currently on its way since 2020. The project is granted by the French bank BPI and aims at accelerating the development of AI applications with clinical partners and startups.My organization is also part of RHU projects (Recherche Hospital Universitaire) such as DESTINATION 2024 or eCAN. In the context of the acceleration of investments in digital health, I have continued working on the definition of innovative projects.My team is responsible for the execution of collaborative projects and the development of algorithms, web services and workflows supporting the advanced visualization product roadmap.

    I've started my journey in the Advanced Visualization department with the management of Verification and Validation. During this short period, the focus was to deliver VS7 (Volume Share 7) expected by many customers for a while. It was the opportunity to discover program operationnal mecanisms and the area of software testing in AW. I drove the team through this critical period with a strong focus on execution and predictability. In parallel, the post VS7 was prepared the transition of teh role of tester to : - Test automation and practices around BDD- The move of the role of software tester to the developper / tester During this period, I also lead the preparation to the FDA inspection for AW. This has been a way to ease and speed my immersion inside AW.

This program relied on a partnership with the company MAQUET, leader in surgical table solutions in the market. In paralell, I contributed to additionnal topics for the interventionnal business: - UDI (Unique Device Identifier) regulation : Preparation of the transition of all interventionnal products for the compliance of the new regulation from the US aiming at having a tracability of all medical devices from its design to its installations. - VCP rodamap : define the roadmap of cost reduction and managed the follow-up of prices for all Premium Angiography products.

    Lead Program Integrator of a program aiming at introducing an innovative platform in the interventionnal radiology. The solution was based on a mobile gantry and relied on a laser technology for the positionning guidance. The project was sponsored by french government (IRMI) and relied on the partnership with BA System in France for the mobile gantry. The full team allocated on the project was ainly at Buc and reached more than 100 engineers on software, hardware and supplychain areas. The product was unveiled at RSNA in 2011 and the design transfer and the first installation was completed end of 2012.

    In charge of the planification and the lead of program execution for an INNOVA x100 XRay interventionnal product. The aim of the program was to deliver a compatibility of those products with the INNOVA IQ Table having the ability to tilt. Installed base defects relative to this table and cost reductions were also part of this program.A team of 60 members was allocated on the project and was located on 3 sites : Buc, Budapest and Bengalore. We succedded in driving the full execution (from the start M0 to the release M3) in 9 months.
