18 months short term contract as software engineer at the Xerox Research Centre Europe (XRCE) in Meylan, France.This contract was a continuation of a 6 months internship.I was in charge of the productization of the parking of the future project, and its integration into Xerox Service's parking management solution.The dialog with the client was integrated to the development thanks to agile methodologies allowing us to continuously improve the solution.The result was an application running 24/7 with a low memory and CPU footprint to maximize the number of parking lanes managed per server.Code quality, performance and algorithm improvement were at the heart of the project.

End of formation internship as computer science engineer at the Xerox Research Centre Europe (XRCE) in Meylan, France.I developed a prototype of application to re-identify vehicles in parking lots using CCTV cameras.The starting point of the project was an algorithm developed at XRCE allowing to accurately compare images. The goal was to use it on license plates images to replace the use of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) as identifier.The advantage of this algorithm is a better accuracy than the OCR techniques. It is also privacy friendly because of the lack of use of license plate numbers.I had to overcome several challenges to develop the prototype :- I developed a video processing library on top of FFmpeg- I used the Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) to connect the application to several cameras at the same time using live555- I implemented several image and video processing algorithmsThe resulting prototype was able to process several video input to detect events and license plates. Finally the image matching is done to re-identify the vehicle.The prototype demonstrated that the image matching algorithm was usable in the use case of vehicles re-identification in parking lots even if tweaks could be made to improve accuracy and general performance.It has been continued as the parking of the future project.
