Michal Bar is a Senior Software Engineering Manager at SolarWinds at SolarWinds. While I was out of the country (business travel) Michal took the responsibility of system staging. He progressed with the system installation, worked on his own with a little of guidance. For me it was a pleasure to see that Michal stepped forward from engineer who can work on repetitive but simpler tasks to complex and more advanced where the engineering know-how is needed. Next we were working on system for Canada customer, where Michal showed that the firsthand knowledge gained in SIT can be easily utilized. We were discussing a lot the Customer's backhaul network, cloud switching, microwave architecture. Michal stepped into totally different area of systems engineering. Even tasks as networking configuration he did much quicker now because he has the knowledge and knows the destination and ways to reach it. Finally I had a pleasure to have Michal in the team working on system for US Customer. Some may say that this was easy 1 simulcast, 1 console site system, but in fact in was Geo-Redundant. Multi-Sub-Sites, packed with voice channels system, where amount of work and the time schedule was overwhelming. Michal gave all his strengths. He worked until late night hours and weekends. He took full ownership on site configuration, which was complex task in the staining environment. He was also responsible for bringing the network to stable state. I was confident to give Michal tasks which were completely new to him. Michal has the ability to learn quickly, accommodate and to bring all the support he needs. It is very important when you need to act fast without asking further questions. Great job!. During the demo to Customer Michal was helping with the tests where two person cooperation was important. He was not frightened with Customer presence and was open to jump in and provide more clarification or answer questions. He also was able to continue discussion with Customer during all breaks which is especially important to give our clients the confidence that true professionals built the system.
