Currently, Baran is heading Süzer Group’s Foreign Investments, the hospitality arm of the group, Acquisitions and investments, in addition to being the Vice Chairman of the Group. During his broad career span, Baran has accumulated extensive experience thriving as a leader and board member within several organizations in Turkey, the US and Europe including, Süzer Holding, Süzer Group Real Estate, Kent Factoring Inc., BAGDAS natural gas distribution, EFM facility management and Kent Bank Croatia. He has a proven track record of identifying lucrative financial opportunities by investing in value-add projects and concepts locally and internationally including the development and exit of a multi-million-dollar Prestige mall project in Bahçeşehir, US investments in Miami and NYC, and the acquisition and expansion of Banka Brodo, later rebranded to Kent Bank. As a Change Agent he is keen on identifying prosperous business opportunities for the group, the latest venture is opening the first NOBU restaurant in Istanbul at the Ritz Carlton, hence adding another prominent landmark to his hotel and this vibrant city. A philanthropist at heart, Baran is a member of the Board of Trustees for Süzer Foundation. Knowing the value of education, the Süzer Foundation was established with a mission to contribute to the education of the new generations by constructing elementary and secondary schools and providing scholarships to thousands of undergraduate and postgraduate students around Turkey. In 2009 Baran was elected as the “Best Second-Generation Businessman” and was included in the list of the “Most Successful 25 Businessmen Under 35” of Forbes Turkey in 2011.
