I grew up in the mountains of Colorado and have always had a love of our land. While I did not grow up on a ranch, I always wanted to be a Cowgirl and raised animals for 4H. I quickly learned this was my passion and developed a deep love for animal husbandry. I discovered Animal Sciences while studying at Colorado State University. This choice has made me the advocate I am for all agriculture and eventually brought me back home to the mountains...married to a beef cattle rancher and making every day about our commitment to the land, the animals, our family and the industry. My career has been varied and exciting. I have worked in the meat packing business, pet food industry as well as beef cattle ranching. I have traveled the world, and I have seen almost every facet of our industry and have learned to appreciate how closely connected we all are. I have realized that without collaboration, understanding and compassion for each other we cannot succeed. My skills in animal nutrition, project management, strategic planning and thinking have brought me success in business as well as ranching. Being flexible and able to pivot when conditions change and building lifelong relationships that bring professional and personal benefits help everyday as we face difficult decisions about our business.
