About Sens8 Support Services:- Sens8 specialises in disability, sexology and social work. It provides an inclusive, non judgemental environment that promotes the sexual health and wellness of individuals with disability. Focus areas include: disability and sexuality, strengthening social connections and relationships, consent, sexual boundaries, informed decision making, NDIS related supports, education and training surrounding sexual health and wellness (sex, gender, sexuality). - Education and training for service providers surrounding sexual health and wellness can also be provided. - Sens8 utilises a trauma informed, person centred and strength based approach to meet the needs of each individual. This includes undertaking therapy, assessments and supports in a range of settings agreed to by both Sens8 and the individual accessing the support. - Sens8 supports diversity and inclusivity and welcomes all people to its service, regardless of race, religion, gender or sexuality.- Sens8 is all about working with individuals; not providing services to or for individuals. Discussions regarding mutual respect, privacy, confidentiality and decision making are held upfront before service provision occurs. Barb's background:- 30 years disability & community services experience- 15 years' experience as an educator/ trainer in disability and community service qualifications- High level understanding of human rights, person centred practices, strength based practices- High level ability to link theory to practice in day-to-day interactions - in particular strength based and person centred practices- Maintains strong professional and ethical boundaries- Experience in mentoring/coaching others in the workplace- 2x Masters degrees - specialising in Disability and Sexology- Accredited Disability Social Worker registered with AASW
