I have been a physical therapist for 44 years with clinical expertise in geriatric physical therapy, earning my ABPTS Board Certification in Geriatric Physical Therapy in 2011. I have been involved in physical therapy education for more than 30 years and currently serve as the Founding Director and Professor of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. My experiences have provided me the opportunity to develop expertise in higher education administration, program and curriculum development, and accreditation. I earned a PhD in Physical Therapy with an emphasis in Educational Administration, and I served two terms on the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education including two years as Chair. More recently, I mentored developing educational leaders through the APTA Fellowship in Higher Education Leadership. I have been an active and engaged member of the APTA throughout my career and currently serve as the Treasurer for the TPTA. I have consulted with a number of PT and PTA education programs to address a wide array of needs, and I am available for consultation, particularly for PT and PTA programs experiencing challenges related to meeting CAPTE accreditation standards.
