CurrentCareer development coaching for individuals focuses on choosing the right job/career; finding a job; and staying employed. In-person sessions are available in greater Boston; telephone and Zoom sessions are available throughout the United States and overseas. Parent consultations provide objective feedback on options for post-secondary education and employment.Professional development programs: ▪ The Asperger’s/Autism Employment Coach Certification features live instruction over the Internet and personal mentoring. Eight weekly meetings provide tips and techniques to address communication, executive function and sensory processing difficulties, understand autistic strengths and build rapport with clients. Sessions feature interactive exercises, case studies, and group discussions. Weekly assignments consist of readings, short-answer questions/case study reviews with personalized feedback. The 6-week supervised practicum provides hands-on experience and mentoring. It qualifies for 19.5 Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) credits.▪ Employment Success for Individuals on the Autism Spectrum is a 6-week training specifically for vocational rehabilitation and DDS specialists and their vendors. Participants learn how to assist consumers to choose the right job, get hired and maintain employment. Explaining autism to employers and innovative hiring models are also covered. It qualifies for 9 CRC continuing education credits from the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification. ▪ Leveraging Asperger’s/Autism Strengths in the Workplace is a half-day program for human resources, neurodiversity/inclusion personnel and hiring managers. It describes the impact of Asperger’s/autism in the workplace using non-technical language. Participants learn practical tips for assessing qualifications, onboarding and addressing challenges. Training can also be customized based on the needs of an organization.
