The most recent work Barbara has been involved with is oil & acrylic paintings. The subject matter is the surrounding landscapes but through technique & design she is trying to push her surreal view of the world into perspective. She is also open to commisions having recently designed a music CD for a California musician. The art was based on a painting done before & redesigned & digitally tweeked to represent the music visually. Her portraits are not your everyday pictures of someones face. They always try to bring forth the inner portrait of the person that see's the vision of the true self.

As an artist, Barbara Blackman is known for a wide scope of work which includes; political cartoons & illustrations, landscapes, portraits, and surreal or visionary art. She has painted & exhibited since the 60's but also worked as a commercial artist & teacher.

The Pasco School District hired me to create an ongoing instructional video series, "Managing Productive Schools'", by Dr's Snyder. I was a media specialist & art teacher for Hillsboro County School District.
