Barbara J. Bramble is Vice President for International Conservation and Corporate Strategies at the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), which is the largest conservation education NGO in the United States. She served as Chair of the boards of two global sustainability standards organizations: the Forest Stewardship Council (www.fsc.org) and the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (www.rsb.org). For over four decades she has directed NWF’s advocacy to improve U.S. international environmental policy with regard to climate change and forest conservation. She oversees a multinational team which helps to builds consensus with business on voluntary environmental and social safeguards for sustainable agricultural, livestock production and forest products. She was a member of the leadership group of environmental and social advocacy NGOs who pushed for the original global agreements on Climate Change and Biodiversity at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. Before joining NWF, she served as legal advisor to the White House Council on Environmental Quality, and as an environmental lawyer in private practice.
