Barbara is originally a metroplex girl from DFW, Texas. In 1995, she achieved her Bachelor’s Degree from Texas Tech University while serving at Sports & Industrial Rehab Clinic in Lubbock. She received her Physical Therapy Assistant Licensure in 2008 and graduated from Blinn College in Bryan, Texas. Barbara began her Physical Therapy Assistant career at The College Station Medical Center, in the Acute Care, Rehab, and Out Patient Physical Therapy Department and is currently practicing at Encompass home health and hospice. In addition, Barbara is a Clinical Instructor for PTA students and represents alumni on the Blinn PTA Administrative Board Committee.Barbara has been a Certified Personal Trainer since 1994 and became a Certified Fitness Practitioner for special populations in 2001. In fact, Barbara was featured in American Fitness Magazine’s Professional Edge AFP Spotlight. Her passion is wellness and improving patient’s functional mobility for their activities of daily living. Her mission is bridging the gap from therapeutic recovery to a continued lifestyle of wellness for relapse prevention. She has established her experience from various population environments such as MHMR State School, Psychiatric Prison, U.S. Military MWR, and Acute Care Orthopedics. Barbara's most recent 2016 Certification as an Orthokinetics Specialist has contributed to her assessment skill set. Barbara attributes her vast observations of positive session outcomes to patients and clients who learn to implement exercise technique. Sharing part of the road to recovery motivates her to pursue Graduate School as well as Neuroscience Research. “I attribute any and all success to my God in heaven who generously allows me to share the gift of healing.
