About Barbara Sigmundová
SK: Vyštudovala som prekladateľstvo a tlmočníctvo so zameraním na anglický a španielsky jazyk. V roku 2015 som získala titul PhD. v odbore Translatológia na Filozofickej fakulte Univerzity Komenského v Bratislave. Od roku 2009 pôsobím ako prekladateľka na voľnej nohe. Za preklad Borgesových Fikcií som dostala v roku 2019 Prémiu Literárneho fondu. Ako audiovizuálna prekladateľka spolupracujem s festivalmi Febiofest, Fest Anča, Jeden svet, Hviezdne noci, Hory a mesto, Viva la película. EN: I studied translation and interpretation from English and Spanish into Slovak at the Comenius University in Bratislava. In 2015 I recieved my PhD in Translation Studies. Since 2009 I have been working as a freelance translator and subtitler. In 2019 I recieved the prestigeous Slovak Literary Fund Prize for my translation of J. L. Borges's short story collection Ficciones (published by Artforum in 2018). As an audiovisual translator I've collaborated with numerous film festivals, film production and distribution companies. I currently teach audiovisual translation at the Comenius University in Bratislava. ES: Licenciada en Traducción e Interpretación y doctora en Traductología. Desde 2009 he trabajado como traductora y subtituladora del inglés y del castellano al eslovaco. En 2019 recibí el Premio del Fondo Literario Eslovaco por la traducción del libro Ficciones de J. L. Borges (publicado en 2018 por Artforum). Como traductora audiovisual he colaborado con una gran cantidad de festivales, productoras y distribuidoras de cine. En la actualidad imparto clases de traducción audiovisual en la Universidad Comenio en Bratislava.
