Although I studied to work in the historical botany field, my first job was middle school teacher in Science and Math in Falls Church Virginia. From there, I worked in banking as a teller. I graduated to assistant branch manager, and finally head of Policy and Procedure documentation for a local bank. This background lead me to my position as Senior Account Executive with Abby, Incorporated. Abby developed and sold computer-based training programs for entry-level banking positions, with an emphasis on the Operations side of the banking business. In my capacity, I met with clients to determine their training needs, and developed a course outline for then. I designed the computer-based instruction programming and often assisted with the programming and quality control of the lessons; wrote student manuals and instruction manuals. I also trained the bank executives in the process of training the new employees.Upon retirement, I worked at several jobs and did quite a bit of volunteer work. I worked as a substitute teacher, a Wal-Mart associate, and .dabbled in on-line sales (not good....) I volunteered for Hospice and Community Care and served hospitality between services at church. On the home front, my husband and I tried raising cattle (not a good idea unless you like chasing cows...), grew corn and oats, and tried sunflowers. Finally our "farming" efforts tapered off, and we settled on our 2 acres of our 20-acre lot to watch movies, and enjoy living.I have 4 step-children and their spouses and 8 grandchildren; soon to be nine. The ninth one is currently known as "Version 2.0" (Born in 2016 -- a Girl!) Now we have a baseball team! Their ages range from 21 years to 1+ year. From being an only child to marrying into a very large family has been quite an adjustment.
