About Barbara Gwanmesia

-Talking about Africa psyches me up. -Talking about the progress of, and potential for better prospects for Africans spurs me. - Turning all that talk and enthusiasm into a movement so powerful, so all-encompassing, and so pivotal as to promise a tectonic shift in the lives of millions of Africans, is what has now made secondary everything else that I have ever done, talked about, or thought up until this moment. So, neither the books written over the years (published & unpublished) nor the magazines edited... neither the years as a social entrepreneur nor as a researcher... neither any one of those nor anything else that has ever defined my professional life is of any consequence now. At least not in the face of a movement that is about to dismantle the (arguably) most pervasive barrier to fundamental progress in Africa: hereby identified as "the Elitization' of knowledge through language" - on top of which is "the caging of education" and educational opportunities on the continent. If anything has held Africa back, it is the inability of hundreds of millions of Africans to access life-changing knowledge and education due to language-access deprivation.Remove any language barriers to information or communication, and poverty will begin to lose its grip - fast. It is for this reason that BATAZIA now drives my life mission for Africa... it is for this reason that Batazia now defines my determination to continually seek and create ways to move myself, my Africa and my fellow Africans into existential peace. Indeed, it is for this reason that Batazia is not just a tech solution, but a movement for change. Created to remove all language barriers to the free flow of knowledge and access to education in Africa, Batazia is a mobile app/platform that makes books and learning available to Africans in African indigenous languages. Its technology allows information given in one African language (or in a global language widely used in Africa) to be instantly understood in other African language and vice-versa. Batazia's goal is to make this possible for all 3000+ indigenous African languages within the shortest time possible. My job as Batazia’s President and CVO (Chief Visionary Officer) is, at this point, secondary to the effort of our highly skilled tech team led by our CTO Ndipabonga Atanga. It is very much now a support system for our new CEO Bengyella Abor Gwanmesia. Kudos, guys.www.batazia.com
