To support the efficient flow of employees with valid access to the Waterford, NY Momentive site, I watch 50+ cameras located all over the plant. By computer, I help people who are having problems with their badges, lock and unlock turnstiles, open and close vehicle gates, even control the traffic light, turning it to green for Momentive trucks and vehicles to cross Hudson River Road. I also have administrative assisting duties, such as updating permit files for special kinds of projects the employees are doing on site. I also act as switchboard operator, directing outside calls to the appropriate extension, and handle product information calls, and health calls, from purchasers of our silicone products, gathering information about the health concern, then forwarding the information to the Chem Care staff. There are many other desk duties which I attend to, too numerous to name. My building houses the Brigade offices and the health responders, and firefighters, their equipment, etc. It can get very busy, with hundreds of Brigade members on site. We have (2) firehouses and (1) Medical Center on site, and get calls from police or firehouses from the surrounding communities for Mutual Aid. We roll tucks to assist them if they ask for our help.
