I work with the Office of Application Technology Services (OATS) within the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) since November 2019. My first role in OATS was Assistant Director for the then dubbed Division of Medicaid Systems. Here I provided technical management to the division through knowledge of long-term department goals, helping facilitate ongoing system maintenance and operations, including enhancements for the MMIS, DSS/DW and other Medicaid system modules. I also provided program support and guidance related to operational regulations and policies and procedures to maximize operational efficiencies across Medicaid systems for our business partners. Now I serve in the capacity of Executive Advisor where I provide oversight and guidance for the OATS Strategic Plan, support the PMO and PMO related activities, review current processes for efficiency to gauge opportunities for improvements, bridge any gaps between the boots on the ground staff and executive management, and aid in promoting a positive and transparent work environment by engaging with staff through team bulletins and team meetings.Prior to OATS I worked 10-years in the Department for Medicaid Services (DMS) in several capacities - from writing policy and monitoring policy compliance to all things Medicaid data related, including data warehousing, SQL coding, data analysis, fiscal impacts. My final two years with DMS I worked on the Medicaid budget - monitoring, preparing biennial budgets, cost allocation. Early in my Commonwealth career I worked in the Behavioral Health and Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities Department of CHFS working with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for facilities, as well as the Kentucky Attorney General's Office where I worked with custodial and non-custodial parents interpreting state statutes and regulations and advising on matters related to their child support case.Before joining the Commonwealth I worked on the vendor side nearly 9-years for Unisys, the then Fiscal Agent for Medicaid.As a side hustle I worked at a local paper as a freelance write and photographer for time. Photography is my stress reliever. I have volunteered my services for many sporting events, school events and to many members of the community for personal photo shoots.For many years I was involved with my local recreational soccer league where I volunteered my time serving as a coach and President of the league. My experience is that we do not have one objective but two goals. to improve our community and to make it better.
