I began my career as an Independent Beauty Consultant and through a proven track record of sales, recruiting and leadership, self promoted to Sales Director and again to Senior Sales Director. I totally embraced the Mary Kay values of God First, Family Second and Career Third. In that order everything works. Out of that order, nothing works. As a young woman it was a winning way of thinking. The training and mentoring was like no other career. The recognition was priceless. I developed a customer base and from there I created a Sales Force. As a Sales Director I mentored my consultants to become the very best they could and wanted to be. My responsibilities were to educate, motivate and train the sales forces. Recognition and appreciation of others were the premise of creating an enviroment where all could succeed. Some went on to win cars and become Sales Directors, where others were content with an income that contributed to the household and afforded them the "extras". I was one of the fortunate to have sat at the feet of Mary Kay Ash: the greatest trailblazer for women in business. I learned so much from her. It propelled me to the path of success in everything I have done since then.

As an advisor I helped families inquiring over the internet and some locally as to how to find solutions for family situations involving Seniors. Mostly Seniors who needed or wanted a little something more. It may have been more socialization, care free living, or perhaps they were needing personal care and/or supervision. A Place for Mom was founded by Pam and John Temple and Brian Trisler. I fell in love with the philosophy of the founders and the purpose it gave me. It was easy to become a top achiever in the nation. I enjoyed company all expense paid trips to Mexico with other top advisors for a job well done. I became a Trainer for the new hires. Pam, John and Brian sold A Place for Mom to Warburg Pincus in 2010,Brian Trisler left, Pam and John assumed less active roles in 2011. 2012 Warburg Pincus introduced a new business plan to grow the company.

This was my first experience working in the Senior industry. I found a passion for Seniors and understanding what this transition is for them and how to help them through it. My job responsibilities were to call the inquiries that came from referral sources to the Assisted Living community. I would ask qualifying questions to try to discern if they were appropriate medically and physically for the care that could be provided. I would invite them to tour the community and highlight the features and benefits of living at Merrill Gardens. In the short time I was there my counter part and I grew the census to 100%. The Company sold while I was there to Horizon Bay.
