In this temporary project position with University of Pennsylvania, I developed the metadata that was used for the Free State Slavery & Bound Labor Project site. This digital collection focused on legal materials and other contextual historical materials related to the institution of slavery in the border state of Pennsylvania. I coordinated with a law archivist, website development team, and the professors who developed the project to ensure that the metadata mapped smoothly and properly the site and met the needs of the project. As a graduate assistant for Rutgers University's Special Collections and University Archives (SCUA), I fulfilled reference requests for local and remote archival researchers, digitized materials, and assisted with preservation efforts. I also assisted with preservation and moving efforts during a wide-scale renovation/relocation process.

As a graduate assistant, I primarily performed general reference work via the university library's in-person reference desk and online chat service; I also assisted a full-time librarian with her research project in the digital humanities, where I exercised transcription and HTML/TEI skills.

I assisted a researcher by being the liaison between her and the Rutgers University library to ensure she received the materials she needed from their Archives; I also created and continuously updated multiple spreadsheets with data from her research.

Answered calls from participants regarding health insurance using multiline phone 
system, email, and live chat simultaneously; took appropriate steps to answer participant questions and resolve their issues; utilized several programs and databases including to manage calls, assisted in managing call reports.

At Slippery Rock University's Writing Center, I tutored students in writing, revising, formatting, and grammar in essays and other written assignments. I scanned and filed forms regarding the tutoring sessions and communicated this information to professors and faculty if necessary. Additionally, I continuously updated a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet with relevant information regarding each tutoring session I conducted.

As a genre editor for Slippery Rock University's Sound and Literary Art Book (SLAB), I worked with two other editors to manage meetings and discussions and organize submissions. I copy-edited accepted submissions, and communicated submission responses to authors and other editors. Additionally, I reported progress continuously to Managing Editors and assisted with any additional duties necessary within the organization.

Over the course of my semester-long internship with Slippery Rock University's Archives * Special Collections, I shelved books according to both Dewey and Library of Congress systems. I curated two displays of Special Collections material, one on own and one collaboratively. I also created promotional material including pamphlets and information regarding displays. I conducted archival research for faculty members seeking use of archival materials. Additionally, I edited and added information to accession forms and created clamshell boxes to preserve delicate Special Collections items.
