I am a specialized research professional working with and under the direction of the clinical Principal Investigator (PI). While the Principal Investigator is primarily responsible for the overall design, conduct, and management of the clinical trial, I support, facilitate and coordinate the daily clinical trial activities and play a critical role in the conduct of the study. Estimation of Viral load through use of Easy Q Nuclisens kit based on Boom chemistry and principle of NASBA (Nucleic Acid Sequence Based Amplification), 6. CD4+ count, Cell culture techniques, Separation of Peripheral Blood Mononuclear cell (PBMC). 7. Managing the flow and tracking of samples and managing supply of reagents and consumables. 8. Involved in Pre- and Post counseling of clients for HIV testing in the KEMRI HIV laboratories. 9. Training Personnel on Pediatric HIV Diagnosis Techniques in the Early Infant Diagnosis and in Training of Trainers (TOT) Program in Kenya 10. Providing guidance to graduate students attached in the HIV laboratories with their molecular work.
