Designed and implemented community-based evaluations of health and safety education programs (including school safety, family first aid, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillation). Designed and implemented research projects to examine staff retention in the field, instructor needs, and sales benchmarking.

Managed the National Hispanic Leadership Initiative on Cancer (NHLIC) Project including: collecting and analyzing data involving more than 200 cases and 800 variables, presenting and writing up findings for professional audiences. Conceptualized and oversaw the development of a cancer screening database of over 4000 Latinos. Developed and directed a free breast and cervical cancer screening project for Latinas in Northern Virginia. Managed data from other studies including another database with more than 200 cases and 600 variables.

Designed and implemented an evaluation of the Patient Navigator Project at Harlem Hospital. Project managed the National Hispanic Initiative on Cancer for MSK. This included setting up and managing advisory groups, designing data collection instruments, coordionating a national pilot test of the two instruments and then implementation of the research at six sites across the country.

Caracas Venezuela

Community organizing around health and faith in a poor urban community on the outskirts of Caracas. Worked with youth and adults in the community of Nueva Tacagua together with an international project team of North Americans, Venezuelans and Filipinos. Also served as business manager of the project team.

New York City, Ny And Houston Tx

Member of the lay community, served as a volunteer in the shelter for homeless youth (Under 21) in New York, working with the young mothers and their children residing at the shelter. Served as business manager for the 50 member community. From 1982 through 1983 worked as a member of the start-up team tasked with opening the Covenant House shelter in Houston Texas.
