My role as a Specialist Voice Therapist and Clinical Team Lead at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, centres on enhancing patient care through innovative "first contact" pathways and effective collaboration with ENT consultants. The development of a pre-ENT SLT-as-first-contact pathway stands as a testament to our team's dedication to reducing wait times for those with voice disorders. Our efforts not only demonstrate our commitment to clinical excellence but also reflect a broader mission to streamline and improve healthcare delivery.Beyond clinical practice, my tenure as a Lecturer and Clinical Tutor at the University of Reading allowed me to contribute to the future of our field through education, shaping a new generation of therapists. This dual experience in patient care and academic instruction informs my holistic approach, ensuring that the treatment strategies I employ and the knowledge I impart are both grounded in the latest research and tailored to individual needs.
