The Friends of Jerusalem Botanical Gardens is a UK registered charity dedicated to raising the profile of the Botanical Gardens in Jerusalem, a safe, beautiful, harmonious setting where all are welcome. The Friends raise funds to provide scholarship/internship opportunities so horticultural graduates from all over the world can study and work at the JBG. Not only do they benefit by gaining horticultural experience; they share their knowledge, learn new skills and experience the cross-cultural working environment practiced in the Gardens.As Operations Manager of the Friends I organise the day-to-day tasks of the charity, run the internship scheme and arrange the annual Working Holiday for volunteers. We are always seeking to engage more like-minded individuals to join our group. I produce a newsletter and organise occasional social and fundraising events. In a part-time capacity, covered the role of marketing and communications for a year while the charity was undergoing reorganisation.

Identification of purpose and style of supporting literature for training programmes; selection of appropriate writer; editing drafts; liaising with graphics designer and printers; ensuring deadlines met. Additionally, proofread all company communications and printed materials before distribution, drafted press releases and ensured adherence to design guidelines.
