My studies into International Politics I believe means I am a good fit for a position within the civil service or within a nonprofit as I have done extensive work into the affect of the UN, EU, and NATO on the world as well as the work of NGOs throughout history. I have studied a variety of topics within my degree with my dissertation focusing on Finland’s border with Russia and the consequences of Finland’s recent NATO membership following the 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Given the current climate with the ongoing conflicts in Syria, Ukraine, South Sudan, Somalia, and Afghanistan investigating the plausible outbreak of war in Finland, an EU and NATO member state could be key to preventing a full-scale nuclear war especially given Finland and Russia’s past relationship. My studies has allowed a deeper understanding of the affects of various issues including race, poverty, class, and gender within issues like nation building, migration, and the climate therefore providing important background history and information on policy and theoretical perspectives when it comes to continuing my studies into risk, security, and politics.
