CurrentAs Owner of Tarheel Medical Supply I do everything, as most small business owners will tell you. I do the purchasing, bookkeeping, sales, merchandising, shipping, claims preparation, human resources, etc. etc. etc. My daughter, Michelle works with me and she does everything I don't get around to, including the deliveries, and we both provide customer service on the phone, with customers in our store, and often in our clients' homes when we deliver and set up equipment for them. We're a small mother/daughter business, and we specialize in products for home health care. We also rent medical equipment, and bill Medicare, Medicaid, and many private insurance companies. But what we both thoroughly enjoy about what we do is improving the quality of life for our customers. When we can help someone become more independent, or have less pain, or help a family member/caregiver to make life easier for themselves and their loved one, we are rewarded tenfold.
