Barbara Young has dedicated a large part of her career to developing personnel in the Oil and Gas Industry. In addition to the technical and managerial positions she has held, which include Manager of Technical Development for Petro-Canada, Party Chief for Geophysical Services Inc, Director of New Technology for Petro-Canada and Director of Human Resources for Dominion Exploration Canada, she has consulted to the oil and gas industry in the areas of staff and organizational development. Having retired from full time employment she was instrumental in developing the Lakeland College Petroleum Management Program for Senior Field Personnel in the Oil and Gas Industry which she managed for a number of years. She currently teaches the Employment Relations course. The balance of her time is dedicated to continuing a long-time commitment to volunteer work both within Canada and in developing countries around the world. In particular she has personally been involved in a number of programs in Guatemala. Recently Barb has started working on a new start up initiative in the oil and gas business with a fellow Rotarian.
